Voksi Huddle – baby carrier from newborn to toddler, as easy as putting on a jacket

Meet the baby carrier that grows with your child – and makes everyday life simpler.

Voksi Huddle slips on like a jacket, gives full front access and adapts from newborn to toddler (3.2–15 kg) without any extra inserts.

Tested, medically assessed and award‑winning design – created for real family life.

Slips on like a jacket – it really is that simple

  • No complicated adjustments
  • No long straps behind your back
  • No lifting over your head
  • No guessing where your arms are supposed to go

Huddle goes on just like a jacket:

Fasten the orange hook at the bottom. Once it’s secured, it’s easy to insert the zip properly and pull it up past the seat indicator with the button. That creates the seat your baby will sit in. Fasten the button for extra security, place your baby gently inside, adjust at the front and zip all the way up.

Taking your baby out is just as simple:

open the front zip and lift your baby straight out – even while sleeping.

Back-friendly for you and your baby

Huddle is certified as back‑friendly by AGR – an independent panel of doctors and physiotherapists who assess ergonomics according to strict criteria.

The fixed, pre‑defined back panel keeps the straps in the correct position every time you put the carrier on, providing an even and predictable weight distribution across your shoulders, back and hips. For you, this means less strain and more comfort over time.

For your baby, it means a safe, naturally supported sitting position with a healthy M‑shape for the hips, natural spinal support in the newborn stage, and a stable, protective area around the head and neck.

Grows with your child

Huddle can be used from newborn (from 3.2 kg) all the way up to around 15 kg. From the very first weeks, inward-facing carrying offers closeness, calm and healthy support for your baby’s back and hips.

From around six months – when your baby is ready – you can also switch to outward-facing, letting them safely explore the world from your arms.

Many parents look forward to this milestone, but inward-facing carrying remains the best everyday choice – for comfort, bonding and ergonomics. You can always switch between positions depending on the situation and your baby’s needs.

Natural materials that breathe all year round

Huddle is made from a breathable blend of 40% Tencel™ and 60% cotton, with ventilated 3D mesh on the inside. Test families have used it in 35°C summer heat with great comfort – and it feels soft and gentle against newborn skin.

When the temperature drops, the natural materials keep the warmth in.Pair it with the Voksi Carrier Cover to keep both you and your baby snug through winter.

Frequently asked questions

1. When and how long can I use the Huddle?
How long can I use Huddle?

Huddle is designed to grow with your child – from those very first weeks (from 3.2 kg) all the way up to toddlerhood, around 15 kg.

It is AGR-certified as back-friendly by doctors and physiotherapists, meaning the weight is evenly distributed across your shoulders, back and hips. This makes carrying more comfortable, even as your baby gets bigger.

How long it feels comfortable to carry at a time will vary from person to person. The most important thing is to listen to your body and take breaks when you need them. After giving birth, the body may need extra time and care, so the birthing parent should be mindful of their own limits.

At the same time, Huddle offers a wonderful opportunity for a partner – whether that’s dad, co-mum or another close caregiver – to share the carrying. It gives the primary parent some relief and creates a lovely way to bond closely with the baby.

Can I use it for both inward- and outward-facing carrying?

Yes! From newborn, your baby should always be carried inward-facing – and make sure to fasten the newborn buttons at the front for extra support and security.

From around six months, when your baby has good neck control and can sit steadily, you can open the front sliders to let your baby sit outward in an ergonomic position. Inward-facing should still remain the main position, as it offers the best closeness, protection, and support.

Can my baby sleep in Huddle?

Yes, babies can comfortably sleep in Huddle in the inward-facing position.

A big advantage is that you can simply unzip the carrier at the front and transfer your baby into a pram or bed without disturbing their sleep. Use the adjustable neck support to adapt and support your baby’s head while resting.

Can I breastfeed in Huddle?

This is a common question. Some mothers find it possible to breastfeed in Huddle by loosening and adjusting the straps to bring their baby closer to the breast. The most important thing is to always make sure your baby’s airways are clear, and to keep watch throughout feeding.

Afterwards, we recommend placing your baby back in an upright, supported position. Experiences vary – for some it feels natural, while others prefer to take their baby out of the carrier to breastfeed. Try it out and see what works best for you.

2. How do I put the Huddle on and take it off?
How do I put on Huddle?

No complicated straps or buckles. You put it on just like a jacket: Always fasten the orange hook first, then insert the zip fully into the metal base and pull it up past the seat indicator with the button.

This forms the seat your baby will sit in and ensures the carrier is properly secured at the bottom. Remember to fasten the button for extra security. Loosen the side straps, hold your baby high on your shoulder, and gently guide them in before closing and adjusting at the front 🙌🏼

Check out the instruction video for detailed guidance, or read our article on all you need to know about correct babywearing 💛

Is it difficult to get my baby into the carrier?

The carrier itself goes on quickly. Placing your baby inside – especially a newborn – can take a little practice at first, but that’s completely normal for any baby carrier. With Huddle, it’s easier since you don’t need to reach behind your back or deal with tricky adjustments. You can sit down and put it on calmly, something our test families loved – especially first-time parents with newborns. Many also find it helpful to use a mirror the first few times. After a couple of tries, it usually feels very natural 🫶🏼

Huddle is designed to be simple – but some important steps should always be followed:

1. Create the seat first

Fasten the orange hook at the bottom. Then insert the zip fully into the metal base and pull it up past the seat indicator with the button. This creates the seat your baby will sit in. Remember to fasten the button for extra security.

2. Make space

Loosen the side straps to give yourself enough room to place your baby inside.

3. Hold your baby high

Lift your baby high on your shoulder and gently guide the legs into the opening. Always guide the legs in, rather than pulling them.

4. Close, adjust, and tighten

Bring the front panels together like a jacket and zip all the way up. Help your baby into a good sitting position by doing a small hip roll, so they sit in an M-position with knees higher than bum. Tighten the side straps until snug but comfortable.

5. Adjust the neck support

Only adjust up to mid-ear. It is a neck support, not a headrest.

How do I take my baby out again?

Super simple – the zip opens down to the button. You can leave the orange hook attached until you’ve lifted your baby out and are ready to remove the carrier completely.

Many parents find this feature invaluable, especially when their baby has fallen asleep and can be transferred to a pram or cot without waking.

Is the zipper safe?

Yes! Huddle uses a high‑quality YKK zip – the same type used in outdoor equipment and heavy luggage. The zip is tested to withstand over 70 kg, far more than a baby weighs.

Always remember to fasten the orange hook and insert the zip fully into the metal base to ensure it stays securely closed at the bottom. The zip should always be opened and closed by an adult.

My toddler is very curious. How do I prevent them from pulling the zipper down when carried facing forward?

Huddle is designed with curious toddlers in mind. The zipper puller is secured with a small elastic loop at the top of the zipper. This allows the puller to be tucked in, making it difficult for little hands to grab and pull it down on their own.

When carrying your child world-facing, we also recommend folding the neck support down. This helps to further cover and hide the zipper puller, adding an extra layer of security.

Together, these features help ensure that the zipper stays safely in place, even with curious and active toddlers.

3. Comfort and ergonomics
Does Huddle fit everyone?

Huddle is designed to fit most adults (sizes S–L). The waist belt adjusts up to approx. 135 cm, which is the standard for ergonomic baby carriers. In addition, there is extra webbing hidden in the back panel – giving you up to 40 cm of additional adjustment around the chest and back if needed.

You can also adjust the carrier’s back length using the strap between the waist belt and the back panel. This adds extra flexibility and comfort across different body shapes.

For the best comfort, we recommend placing the waist belt high and carrying your baby so that you can easily kiss their head – this ensures both the correct position and clear airways. If you have a particularly broad or tall body, the fit may feel a little more snug – we recommend trying it on if you’re unsure.

Is Huddle safe for my baby’s back and hips?

Yes. Huddle was developed in close collaboration with babywearing consultants, physiotherapists, and medical professionals – and later AGR-certified in Germany after a comprehensive review and hands-on evaluation by an interdisciplinary panel of doctors and therapists.

This certification confirms that Huddle supports your baby’s natural spine shape and the recommended M-position for healthy hip development, while also being back-friendly for parents

How do I know if my baby is sitting correctly?

When using Huddle, the same safety guidelines apply as for all babywearing. Remember the T.I.C.K.S. principle:

Tight – the carrier should hold your baby snugly against your body.

In view at all times – you should always be able to see your baby’s face. The neck support should never be higher than the middle of your baby’s ear.

Close enough to kiss – your baby should be high enough on your chest that you can easily kiss the top of their head.

Keep chin off chest – make sure your baby’s head does not slump forward and that their airways remain clear.

Supported back – your baby’s back should be naturally curved and supported, with their hips in the recommended “M-position” (bum lower than knees).

Tip: Always check that your baby has free airways, and adjust the neck support so it provides gentle support without pushing the head forward.

How supportive is Huddle for my back?

Voksi Huddle is developed in Norway in close collaboration with babywearing consultants, physiotherapists and health professionals. It is AGR‑certified (by doctors and physiotherapists in Germany) as back‑friendly for both parent and child. One of the main reasons for the AGR approval is the fixed back panel, which keeps the straps in the correct position every time and ensures an even weight distribution that is gentler on your shoulders, neck and lower back over time.

The AGR certification followed a comprehensive review and several hours of practical evaluation by an interdisciplinary panel of doctors and therapists. This confirmed that Huddle supports both the baby’s physiological spinal development and the parent’s back health.

Of course, everyone’s body is different, and if you have arthritis or other back conditions, it’s important to listen to your own limits and take breaks when needed. Many parents with back concerns have found Huddle more comfortable than carriers with harder-to-reach buckles or uneven strap tension, since all adjustments are at the front and easy to fine-tune.

If you get the chance, we’d recommend trying it on in-store to feel how it works for your body.

4. Materials, seasons and washing
Is Huddle too warm for summer?

No. The fabric is a blend of 40% Tencel™ (lyocell) and 60% cotton, with breathable 3D mesh on the inside. Tencel is highly breathable, absorbs moisture efficiently and feels cool against the skin, while cotton adds softness and comfort.

Together they provide better moisture transport and cooling effect than cotton alone – and have proven comfortable even in 35 °C heat.

For everyday summer use, Huddle works very well. On warm days, we recommend light clothing for your baby and avoiding direct sun exposure.

What materials is Huddle made from?

Huddle is made from a blend of 40% Tencel™ lyocell and 60% cotton on the outside – a soft, breathable fabric that wicks moisture and keeps you and your baby comfortable even in warmer climates.

The inside is ventilating 3D mesh that promotes airflow and helps regulate temperature. All materials are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, class 1 certified – safe for your baby’s delicate skin.

How do I wash Huddle?

To keep your baby carrier clean, safe, and comfortable over time, we recommend the following:

Wash before use: We recommend washing Huddle before the first use. This removes any production residues and makes the fabrics extra soft against your baby’s skin.

Machine wash: Place the carrier in a laundry bag and wash on a delicate cycle (30 °C) with a mild detergent, free from bleach.

Small stains: Often, it’s enough to wipe off small stains with a damp cloth instead of washing the entire carrier. This saves both time and the environment.

Drying: Lay flat to dry in a well-ventilated area. Never tumble dry, as the heat may damage the materials.

By following these guidelines, you’ll extend the life of your baby carrier and ensure it stays soft, clean, and comfortable – for both you and your baby.
